life happens
How do we as parents, give love and support, knowing our children have agency to make their own choices, but feel the wrong choice is being made! At times I think I can feel a small piece of how our Heavenly Father feels as he watches us make our way through the road of life. Sometime there are speed bumps, other times we make total detours ... but along the way our navigator is there hoping we will turn to Him, and hoping we will listen to His counsel. When our children make turns, we sometimes think we know what is best for them, and that the turn they are making is wrong , but because of agency we stand by, voicing our concern and encouragement and hope they will know our concern is based on our love, and our love will always be there no matter what the out come of their choices.

I know nothing, but I soooo understand the sentiment!! The parenting thing doesn't get easier as they get older! What's up with that?!

I too worry about how to respond when a child goes down a path headed the wrong direction. I don't have all the answers, but my experience has taught me that first of all, we have to love them unconditionally. When they are younger, we can put restrictions on them, but even then we have to be careful or else they will pull away.
At the same time, we cannot pretend it is not there, or ignore it and hope that it will go away. I think we have to tell them what we believe is the right thing to do, then tell them we love them and will be there to support them when they need it.
