I am so blest!
So at this time of year, as we do little things for those that are special in our lives... I feel so blest to know so many wonderful people! Those in my ward family, those I work with, those special friends and last but definately not the least... my amazing family members... both those I grew up with and those who have joined the family, my in-laws, and my children, their spouses and my adorable grandchildren! Why don't I take the time all year long to reflect and truely appreciate the people in my life! I love you all!

Livy makes the team

Well there is joy in the household! After several days of try-outs, Livy is one of the 13 members on the 7th grade basketball team. Since 7th grade is the bottom of the totem-pole, practice begins at 6 am, meaning we now get to awake one hour earlier that usual. Yippee! Hear are a few pics from basketball last year... hopefully I will remember to take the camera so I can share some new ones!

Missionaries
I so love the missionary program. I can't wait for the new updated reports from my parents who are serving a mission in Nauvoo. I have a nephew coming home from his mission any day! We have awesome missionaries serving from our ward. I am so impressed by the selfless dedication to go and serve the Lord. Someday I hope to be able to serve a mission with my companion. In the mean time... I will stand in awe as I hear and associate with others who share their amazing stories with me... thanks to you all!

Life just keeps on going!
I can't believe summer is gone, the kids are back in school, and the farm harvest is well under way. It is always good to get back into a routine, but I can't believe how fast the days fly by! We are all doing well, are healthy and happy! We regularly see the hand of the Lord in our lives, we are truely blest!

grateful
This summer has been eventful. Not so much with big events, but with events that have had me thinking and evaluating my feelings for family and the gospel. We have friends and family who have lost loved ones, had children chose ways other than what they wish, had loved ones turn away from the family and the gospel. It seems to me my thoughts have been mostly family centered for most the summer. I am so grateful to have been raised in the family I was, with wonderful parents and patient sibblings who showed me love, even when I was selfish and undeserving. I am likewise blest with a great husband who also came from a wonderful family. Who knows where I would be without the influence of love and gospel teachings. Family is my greatest joy and I thank the Lord daily for the way I have be so greatly blest!

Reunion
I have just enjoyed a very rewarding weekend! To start the reunion off we did a temple session. There are few things that comfort my heart more than to look around and see several of my sibblings and children there in the temple with me! Then the time at the cabin. So rewarding to have no schedual and just enjoy every minute of visiting and playing... watching the children play and interact together! The lake was wonderful even if we had watched rain on and off and wondered if we would make it there. The cabin is so wonderful! Thanks mom and dad... and everyone who participated! I love my family!

Wet
Wow, the rain just seems to keep on coming. On the farm ee have hay turning blue, yet the ground is so wet we got stuck when we tryed to cut. I have yet to get the sprinklers out, with it raining on and off everyday there is no reason! As a family we are blest and healthy. Work is going well. The ward is awesome. Yet I feel this down feeling... I think I just need some sunshine!

Blessings everywhere
Thanks you all for your simpathy and prayers! I have amazing family and friends! I also have so many things to be thankful for... so I have been trying to focus enough on my blessings that I don't let the hard things be overwhelming! I have noticed that I don't even have to look very hard, everywhere I look I see that the Lord is blessing me and His hand in my life is so obvious!

life happens
How do we as parents, give love and support, knowing our children have agency to make their own choices, but feel the wrong choice is being made! At times I think I can feel a small piece of how our Heavenly Father feels as he watches us make our way through the road of life. Sometime there are speed bumps, other times we make total detours ... but along the way our navigator is there hoping we will turn to Him, and hoping we will listen to His counsel. When our children make turns, we sometimes think we know what is best for them, and that the turn they are making is wrong , but because of agency we stand by, voicing our concern and encouragement and hope they will know our concern is based on our love, and our love will always be there no matter what the out come of their choices.

Womans conference
I spent the last 2 days amid fantastic woman. I have never gone to womans conference before, and it was AMAZING! The spirit was strong and it bore witness time and time again about the truths I was being taught! WOW, it has given me new goals to reach for and insight into compassion for everyone around me. I also so Sarah for a quick moment... that was great!

reason for feeling yucky!
Well I went to the doctor today because I just have not been feeling very good for the last....hm.... I don't know, several months. But its not like I just started feeling yucky, its been a gradual thing and I recently realized its been quite a while since I felt really good. Anyway, the lab results are not back, but the doctor, after asking me about my blood tests I have been taking at home the past few weeks, tells me I am now diabetic. He also wanted to know if there was anything else we are dealing with, so they will do all the blood work and let me know tomorrow how we will begin treating this. I think in my heart I knew this was the answer I would be getting, now I am just trying to absorb it is really true.

on and off... the weather
I know the weather we are having, happens every year... but I am so ready for spring to REALLY be here! Sun and warmth one minute... several days of snow and wind... sun and hopes of warmth but the wind blows so hard there is no warmth. I need to find contentment in what we have now instead and wishing for what is yet to come!!!

Life is good
I have been waiting for something big and grand to update about, but it hit me today, that I am very blest. I have no big problems, or disasters, or trials to announce. Instead I am continuing my day to day life with life going smoothly! My children all seem to be smiling most the time in thier lives, my husband continues to recover and is doing a little more each day, my ward calling seems to be runnings fairly well, no leaking this year near my front door (the changes in the roof must have done the trick), Olivia is loving basketball, Hyrum is being a great helper (rarely complains as I ask for help)..... I AM TRUELY BLEST!!!

Off to Nauvoo
Well my parents came home from the MTC yesterday, loaded everything up, and are now traveling through Wyoming on the way to Nauvoo to serve an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! It was so good to see them last night, and I am so proud of their choice to serve another mission! I will miss them but know they are where they should be. What great examples to us all! Love ya mom & dad!!!

Hubby is doing great
Yesterday my husband had surgery on his shoulder. Everything went well except his diabetes complicated his recovery time. His blood sugar got all out of wack and then he couldn't keep his food down, and was dizzy. They wouldn't let him come home until things got all evened out. After 8 hours we finally got him home, but he is doing much better this morning and we realize the hand of the Lord. Thanks for your love and prayers!!!

Chicago
We went to Chicago this past week-end to be with Salena and Mitch as well as Mitch's family for the wedding party. It was a fast trip... not near as long as I would of liked... but we did tour the city a little. We also met some of the great people and friends of Mitch and his family. We were warmly welcomed and felt totally accepted! If only we could of stayed a little longer... Oh well, we made it back safe and sound!
