son's mishap

My 16 yr old son went ice skating for young men's last night. He got home with a little blood on his shirt from a fall where his chin hit the ice with some force. Well this morning he gets up and his jaw is all swollen and he can't hardly open his mouth an inch. We call the dentist and go in for x-rays. He has jammed his jaw and has a stress fracture on the one side. No gum chewing... no resting his chin in his hand... no eating anything more solid than mashed potates for 3 to 4 months! He feels terribly picked on... worse than when he got his wisdom teeth out last summer. I myself just think... I needed one more thing to worry about... trying to keep his tummy happy while he can't eat solids. Life sure seems to suprise us with what it sends our way!!!
